Domestic Security

In their national platform, the Green Party states that its members "believe that all such systematic degradation or elimination of our constitutional protections must stop, and that corrective measures need to be taken in a timely manner by Congress to fully reinstate all such losses of guaranteed citizen protections."[1]

Thus, the Green Party is less concerned with national security and put its efforts more on civil liberties. Its opinion is resolute and holds no alternatives or reasoning behind its stance, and is perfectly unyielding. At a minimum, the Green Party, unlike the Democratic Party, has made up its mind about what it wants to do in political office.

Patriot Act

Members of the Green Party have the irrevocable stance that America should repeal the USA PATRIOT Act. Greens question the actions of the Bush administration and view the Patriot Act simply as a something that takes away the rights of the people. They do not address its positive aspects, which include protection and stabilization, so its platform is unreasonably biased.[2]

Action

Although the Greens are typically unable to take political action in matters of laws and other forms of legislation, they have acted to restore the 4th amendment of the Constitution, as they believe that the Patriot Act has overridden this law.
